Ramblings and rants about the amusing, stupid things that happen to me in and around Cincinnati.

Got Out Of Going To Cleveland This Weekend

Yup, talked my way out of this. Merry wasn't upset at all. Thank God. It is so hard to be away from home three weekends in a row.

Plus, I can't miss watching the Bengals game on Sunday. The one before the bye week. I have to be in Vegas for 7 nights and want to spend some time at home before I leave Butthead...and of course, my kids, Nick and Candice.

Hee hee...just kidding kids.

By the way, did you see that dude take the ball out of Brett Favre's hand? How weird was that?

I Am Fucked Up

Whatever! I went to my first EVER Bengals game! Too much fun, but I am so ready to hit the SACK! Goodnight kids, i smeriously LOVE YA!

Watching Nip|Tuck

Completely forgot about it Tuesday night. What was I thinking? Watched Boston Legal instead since that was the first thing I saw in my TV Guide.

Hung out for awhile with Nick at Rafferty's. Bev just called asking what time I got there. Apparently, Jeff is acting very strange. Yup, I saw it tonight. But, dude, I hope you're not getting into some bad shit.

Stay cool. At least I got my football pool money and Nick didn't have to break Jeff's thumbs.

Fuck, my back hurts so bad! I need some Ben Gay, but that would mean Butthead would try to lick my back all night.

I love you Butthead. You are the BEST kitty ever!

Million Dollar Home Page

One more thing before I hit the sack. Way to go Alex! This brilliant college student has made over half a million dollars by selling his pixels (his goal is a million and he'll make it). Yeah, I was an early adopter with the gambling instruction site. He is a genious and I felt all warm and fuzzy sending the kid $100 for "university and socks." Even a Google engineer genious, Matt Cutts, sent props to him for his great idea.

Do you know how much spam I get each day from the copy cats? Too much. The funny thing is that some of these morons have copied his whole site and links. Sure, I'll take some FREE LINKS. Idiots!

Still Obnoxious At Work

Haven't written for a few days because I'm too freakin' busy.

By the way, I only came in second in the football pool this week. Still haven't received my dough from last week. Hey Jeff, remember "THUMBS." Yup, that's what's going to happen if you don't show up with my money Friday night...Nick will break your thumbs. Dude, just wait until you don't have use of them...HeeHee!

I really don't have anything to say. I watched the animals play today and they are so cute. All the kids were running around the pasture leaping in the air and playing tag.

Goodnight, this World Series game is smeriously a snoozer. Might just go watch "Napolean Dynamite" again.

An Obnoxious Day At Work

Shit, when we aren't that busy, the fucking boss just interrupts all day with unimportant emails. It is so hard to get crap done and it becomes impossible with all the freakin' interruptions.

Dude, go play with your animals and let the rest of us try to get some stuff done! (In the best Roxy voice..."FUCK OFF.")

Turned in my football picks tonight. Of course I'll never win the pool again, but it is fun. Go Bengals, beat those Steelers.

Not Much To Say Tonight

Had dinner with Nick and that is the most exciting thing to happen to me today. Kinda feels like my life is sucking!

Gotta check on the football pool and see how they are going to deal with Miami playing tomorrow night. Does this hurricane screw up the whole thing? Hope not...I'm loving this stupid little game.

Never Realized How Much I Spend A Day On SEO Forums

WTF? Both WebmasterWorld and Threadwatch have been down all day. Right in the middle of a huge Google update. What an inconvenience.

Turns out, I must spend 2-3 hours a day monitoring the threads. Then another 2-3 hours a night (at home) monitoring the threads. I'm lost today.

At least Threadwatch is back up.

Apparently, there was a fiber optic cut in Chicago that is taking down WW. Could that explain why are traffic has been down today? Folks can't reach us in parts of the US?

Yup, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Won The Football Pool!

$140 coming my way. Plus, I'm the first person ever, in this particular pool, to go 100%. How great is that? Check it out here: http://www.madnesssports.com/nflweek6/

First female or male to do that. I'm pretty excited.

On another note, Nick seems better tonight. Hung out with Nick, Steve, Candice and Jim for a bit. How odd is it that Jim and Steve both turned 27 today? Happy birthday guys. I love you and it must be your date of birth that makes you two of the funniest people I've ever met. Holy shit, they both just kill me with laughter.

BTW Steve, I think Tara is very interested. We learned a lot about her tonight. Plus, she doesn't hate the "Grateful Dead."

What A Fucked Up Few Days

Nick is being put through the ringer. If he comes out ok tomorrow, it will be amazing. Jeeebus Nick, I love you and hope you are ok.

On a better note, if the Colts win tonight, I can win the football poll. Yup, I am 100% perfect so far. Can you believe that? WTF, I'm one of the few people who went against Pittsburgh. Oh, and the Bengals are still rocking!

Will You Smile Again?

I've started listening to this gem of a tune again by "And You Will Know Us From The Trail Of Dead" and think it is my favorite song of the past year. It always reminds me of Nick and Sara's relationship and God knows, there are some problems there. I hope you kids work it out.

This song reminds me of epic progressive (prog rock) recordings in the past, i.e. Rush and Genesis. It starts off mellow and becomes very solid with an awesome drum beat. Then it sounds like (to me) a cello following in the background. It is beautiful.

Here are the lyrics I took from their website http://www.trailofdead.com:

Close the door and drift away
Into a sea of uncertainty
Where all your hopes and dreams
Have faded out of reach.

Remember all the bad dreams
Are not far from reality
Would you write again for me?

(let me whisper something in your ear)

And you awake and there you are
Not far off from the line before
And just how long did it take for you to understand
Where your feelings stopped and writing began
Convince yourself to take control
Play to the hilt this unlikely role.

Remember all the bad dreams
Are not far from reality
Will you write again for me?
And who bade you stop this living art?
Have you forgotten just what you are?
If you don't want to then you could at least pretend
That the paper's your soul and your blood's in the pen
And maybe then you'd see the light
And read the truth that you had to write.

If heaven sent you downstream
Where banished eyes haven't been
Would you smile again for me?
You misread your fate line
Had long run out of time
Would you write again for me?

And you awake and there you are
Not far off from the line before
And just how long did it take for you to understand
Where your feelings stopped and writing began
Convince yourself to take control
Play to the hilt this unlikely role.

If heaven sent you downstream
Where banished eyes haven't been
Would you smile again for me?

RIP Hooodey Hooo

Got a phone call from Dan, my brother, telling me bad news. Shit what a horrible way to start a conversation. Of course I think his wife or one of his kids are dead.

It was their Sheltie, Hoodey. He had to be put down because of kidney failure. Sounds kinda like Mom's problem when she passed.

He got his name from "Gomer Pyle" when the all clear sign was to scream, "Hooodey Hoooo." I'm very sad about this since Hoodey lived with us for a couple of years. I haven't broken the news to anybody yet. Nobody is home and haven't heard from Nick or Candice today.

Nick (especially) loved that dog. (Remember that day Hoodey went home and Mott-the cat-was dead across the street? What a fucked up day.)

Tyler, I'm so sorry your buddy is gone. I hope Hoodey and Mom are having a great time right now. I love you Tyler and Hoodey.

Hung Out With Jack For A Bit Tonight

How cool is it that I turned other human beings (although intelligent ones) on to Arrested Development? Jack says he and Jenny are loving season one. I'm thinking Jack and Jenny may be first on my list to receive season two. They are burning through these DVDs. They are already half-way through the second disc. Man, I only lent it to them a week or so ago!

I received season two last night, and of course, watched the whole first disc.

Why am I tired?

Oh, maybe one more reason...went to the doctor last night and the Wellbutrin has not curbed my appetite for smoking. She upped my dose and said to give it another month (at least she gave me 30 days worth of samples). I had read all of the pamphlets that come with my medication and they always say to be consistent about what time you take the drugs. So, for the hell of it I asked her if I should be taking all this shit at night or morning. Her response was kind of like this, "Well of course in the morning, take it with your Lexapro. You're not smoking while your asleep, right? Plus, taking those at night will probably upset your sleeping patterns."

SHIT, nobody ever told me when to take my medication. I was taking this stuff at night because my co-worker said her anti-depressants knocked her out 30 minutes later. Obviously different drugs, different people!

Could this explain why I've been an insomniac for the last 18 months? Doctors, please tell your patients pertinent information.

Going to bed now, and I bet you I get some sleep!

Jeeebus!

Just received an email from my friend Lisa from New Orleans. She sent me photos of her destroyed house. Of course, I never visited it while I was there, but it looks like it was adorable.

The place is destroyed. Lots of furniture and fixtures survived, but tons of damage.

Lisa, I'm so sorry and I hope you get through this nightmare. Love you N.O Beer Bitch and hope to see you again sometime soon.

Nothing New Here

Except my right arm, hand and shoulder are hurting like hell after the little bowling expedition. Remind me to never do that again.

Got My Confirmation Email From Amazon!

How exciting. I bet I have Arrested Development Season Two by Thursday. Even with the free shipping. They estimate it will be here by October 21st, but I'm telling you that is bull shit. They just try to freak you out and pay extra for shipping.

Bet you it's here Thursday!

I'm Sure This Is Illegal

Holy shit! I am so lazy I washed the color clothes with the white clothes. I hear the sirens coming.

And, tomorrow, hopefully I'll wash my sheets and comforter. Sometimes you have to go the lazy way.

Bengals Lost...No Surprise

They did almost pull it off in the end...

Today was a fun. Nick, Sara and I went to breakfast and then drove to Clifton. Nick and I watched Napoleon Dynamite. Can you believe that's the first time I've seen this? Hilarious.

Then we went to the driving range and hit golf balls. Nick damn near killed us a bunch of times. He kept hitting the ceiling and the ball would come flying at us. Terrifying. After that we went bowling. Man that was horrible. I got a 57 and he got a 96. I had 7 gutter balls in a row.

At the bowling alley we went into the bar and there is was...a pool table! I won 3 out of 5. Of course, all 5 were by default. We always scratch on the 8 ball.

Finished the evening off at Chili's to watch the game. Candice and Paul came too. Very nice end to the weekend.

Got Into A Football Pool Tongiht

Have my brother picking them.

Can the Bengals win Sunday night? Probably not, too many injuries. Whatever, it cost me five bucks. Go Bengals! Go Paul!

Wow, Arrested Development Is Number Nine On Amazon Now

Very cool. Yup nobody watches this show, but the DVD sales rock. A very good reason why FOX shouldn't cancel the best comedy ever!

Hung out with Jack tonight and I have a new convert. He's only seen last week's episode (season three, episode three) and he says he absolutely laughed his ass off.

I gave him the CD I had recorded for Rick with the first two episodes from this season so it would make more sense. But, he said it didn't matter because he loved this episode.

See kids, if you have somewhat of a brain, you can laugh at this show without all the previous episodes. (BTW, I'm not saying Jack only has half a brain...quite the contrary.) My point is, you don't need to see the previous two seasons to pick up the excellent humor.

Now I'm bummed that I have to wait until November to see a new installment. Oh, well, later next week I'll have the season two DVDs to hold me over.

Thanks Tyler

Tyler sent me a review for XM Satellite Radio to put on the Indie Culture site. Yup, my long-suffering site that never gets worked on. Does it really matter? Google still has us in the alleged "sandbox." So, what's the point of working hard on new domains?

Google, this is the stupidest thing you've ever done. Do you smeriously think any site newer than a year old is spam. Your search results have been sucking forever!

Get over it and let's try to have a "fresh" index again...of course that is soooo 2003!

Dinner With Jugglers Tonight

Arn, Nancy, Rachel, Kyle and I went to RockBottom for dinner. I usually love this place, but they were unbearably slow tonight. Took nearly an hour to get our meals. Mine was good, but came out kind of cold. I was too hungry to send it back for a nuking. At least my lunch tomorrow will be warm.

I'm going to bed now. Had to check my emails...Tried for the last hour to write something here, but blogger was down for maintenance. Now, I'm too tired to think about anything.

I've had extreme insomnia the last two nights and I am dead tired. The last time I slept was Sunday. I stared at the clock all night Monday and it was too late to take a sleeping pill. Last night wasn't much better, but I remember seeing some of the Scarborough Report on MSNBC. Since that starts at 2:00 a.m. I must have had at least 5 hours. But, I'll tell ya, 5 hours is not enough rest for a 48 hour period.

I took my sleeping pill an hour ago, and it feels as if I may doze off any second. Jeez, I hope so!

Goodnight.

Yup, Gotta Watch It One More Time

Arrested Development is still the finest comedy to EVER hit the airwaves. Getting ready to watch it for the 4th or 5th time. Plus, you have to continually hit the rewind button to catch all the subtle jokes and innuendos.

Comedy Gold, Jerry!

How can they pack this much shit in 21 minutes each week? And, it just keeps on getting better and better.

Nick and I went to dinner tonight and I swear we discussed virtually every line during the couple of hours we spent. And, yes, we laughed our asses off many times and tried to convert others. Doesn't usually work, but Rick at least Tivoed (sp?) last night's episode.

This show is WAY TOO SMART for normal Americans.

Fuck, this is where comedy dies and goes to heaven. Don't kill it yet FOX. The 2nd season is #10 on Amazon's top 10 sellers this week. Keep it coming and get the bucks on DVD sales. Get this puppy into syndication. AD will live on forever as one of the best comedies ever.

Oh, and how filthy this show is. I can't believe they get this past the censors each week. Of course, the censors probably don't watch it; they only understand drek like "According to Jim."

Still Laughing My Ass Off

about Bob Loblaw.

I've watched last week's Arrested Development 4-5 times and always find more shit to crack me up!

This is the best comedy ever...better than Seinfeld, I swear. Probably watch it again tonight. I'm sure there are other jokes I haven't picked up on yet.

Can't wait for the Bengals game tomorrow!

On another note, Mom, I'm missing you again. I thought about shopping today and I remembered when I was 14-15 and didn't go to school. You took me shopping at Elder-Beerman in Hamilton and bought me all kinds of clothes. Our family didn't have much money, but you lavished me that day. Then we ate in the little diner at the store and I had a BLT. Mom, I love you so much and miss you so much. I hope you are having the time of your "life" now. Say hi to Lila for me. She was such a "pretty girl."
